Chexpert Basic
This is our basic service where we will receive all of your checks that are returned from your bank on your behalf. We will then re-present your checks up to two times electronically through the aCH network to recover your money. This process eliminates bank fees for the second and third time this check is presented to the bank. Under the rules, the banks are not allowed to charge anybody a fee if the second and third tries are not successful. Plus, the fact that we get to submit the item 2 more times to the bank increases the odds of recovery. It is not uncommon for businesses to recover 65-75%.

Chexpert Plus

When you sign up for this secondary collections service, Chexpert or its agents will make phone calls and send letters to check writers in order to recover any monies that remain due after electronic re-presentment and automatic debiting of their accounts. The "Final Notice" letter will come from our corporate attorney, which has proven more effective than a "Final Notice" from a collection agency. Clients who use this service are likely to recover an additional portion, typically 15%, of the outstanding balanced owed to them. There is no charge for this additional service. Participation in this cost-free service plan is entirely optional.

Chexpertise
Chexpertise is available only in a limited number of areas, depending on how the local prosecutor works or does not work with collection agencies as agents for merchants. Chexpert's owner and founder was a prosecutor for 10 years and during that time worked with collection agencies to prosecute checks submitted by the collection agencies on behalf of the merchants. In areas where the local prosecutor will work with us to act on your behalf, Chexpert would prepare the necessary Complaint or Bad Check Affidavit on behalf of customers if permitted by the prosecutor and selected by the customer.
